Engaged!? Planning Your Engagement Shoot! | Sacramento Wedding Photography
Getting engaged is such an exciting time of your life, and why shouldnt it be!? There is now a new goal at the end of the road... a fun new shiny WEDDING!! This is what we love our our job, it getting to meet all kinds of new clients all planning their perfect day, whether its a small intimate wedding, a fun DIY budget wedding, or an extravagant multi day event!
Once the dust settles, and each couple find some of their vendors, and finds their photographer its usually time to set up the engagement session! For us, we LOVE engagement sessions, we see it as a time to get to know our couple a little better, spend some time with them outside of the normal day to day life, and capture them enjoying each other!
So what can you expect from an engagement session?! Sometimes it can be a little nerve wracking so we want to help solve that! First of all... it should be fun!! This is a time you get to know your photographer, you get a test run in a sense of how they will photograph you during your wedding day, and more importantly its a day you get to have fun with your boo and get all dressed up!
Where to Go!?
We always are asked this question... "do you have a set list of locations for shoots" our answer is always no! Of course we would love to help you find a great spot, but what we really want is for you to sit down and think of a spot that you TWO love! Something like a fun outing you enjoy, maybe where you got engaged, or a fun getaway? When we go to these locations its always more exciting, and a little more memorable than just some park that we chose... ;)
What to Expect?
Well, first of all expect to do some goofy things, maybe out of your comfort zone, but thats okay, because who is with you other than the person who you want to spend the rest of your life with, right!? Expect to laugh, cuddle, kiss (a lot) and have fun! Its an experience for sure, and we love that part of it!!
What to Wear & Bring!
We always tell our couples to bring maybe one or two outfits, just to change it up, but its not always necessary. Other fun things to bring would be cute signage, maybe for a save the date, or a thank you? Something that you want to use to remember that this was your engagement session!
Other than those few tips, just enjoy it! Wedding planning is so chaotic its hard to just sit back and relax... remember, once the planning and the wedding is over, then its over and normal life starts back up, so enjoy the little things as they come, like engagement sessions, parties, bbq's, and everything else that comes with planning your big day!
