Our blog... has fallen away from us, and we are now ramping up to finally take care of it, so stick with us! Now... lets go back to July (yes.. July, stop judging us) to an amazing wedding we had the pleasure of shooting with a destination couple out in Mendocino!
This is an amazing wedding that needs to go down in books, we are tellin' ya! If anyone ever wants to say that DIY wedding's have seen their day, or that Pinterest has taken all of the unique elements out of designing your own wedding... they haven't met these two! This wedding was so perfectly put together with just the right touch of vintage charm, pops of color, and unique elements it made me want to go back and do my wedding all over again! Theyhad help from an amazing planner, if you are planning a destination wedding we highly recommend reaching out to her! (Mendocino in Love)
The groom looked just as handsome in his deep blue custom made suit from INDOCHINO, and his California cufflinks!
They wanted to do a first look, which we LOVE doing, and since they were a destination wedding and were not too sure of the area they went scouting for us. What we found was a sweet little diamond in the rough in a nearby campground which was perfect, private and intimate giving them a moment to enjoy each other before the ceremony.
The ceremony was very simple, just some wood benches overlooking the ocean at Cypress Grove, but when your backdrop is THE OCEAN I don't think you really need much else... ammmiright?!
Then to top it off, next door to this little grove were a few gorgeous bluffs overlooking the ocean with tall golden fields where we snagged the two for a quick portrait session before heading over to the reception.
The reception was at the quaint schoolhouse Caspar Community Center, but the charm and details were all on the inside. We walked into the most picturesque vintage farm house set up that could be imagined, with brightly colored drapery around the center, rustic farm tables, mismatched chairs, and of course to top it off mason jars provided by Matt Rowland Events! The tables were perfectly set with custom stones hand painted with calligraphy as place holders. The dancing hall portion of the center was just as charming with vintage furniture nestled around for guests to relax and hang out, an awesome wedding cake by Mendocino Cakes (CHEESECAKE might I add), and the finishing touch was a great little photobooth set up with a Polaroid that everyone had fun with!
The wedding was full of fun, laughter and such a close knit group of family and friends we felt like we were part of the gang! The night wrapped up with a grand sparkler exit which really was the cherry on top to give that vintage flare on last "hoorah!" Such an amazing day and we couldn't be happier with how the photos turned out!
